Job Description:
Role: Senior Linux & DevOps Engineer (Technical)
Shift Timings: 1 PM to 10 PM & 10 Pm to 7 AM
Responsibilities:
? Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available Linux-based systems/applications to support our applications and services.
? Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
? Implement and manage configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to ensure consistent server and application configurations.
? Monitor system health, performance, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
? Collaborate with software engineers to streamline development workflows and enhance application deployment processes.
? Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Linux administration, DevOps, cloud technologies, and automation.
? Create, maintain, secure the docker images/containers. Customize docker images/containers as per the requirement.
? Participate in on-call rotation for responding to critical incidents and ensuring 24/7 system availability.
? Perform Security patches on Linux based OS to keep the environment safe & secure.
? Install, configure packages using yum in RHEL based OS.
? Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and software applications.
? Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
? Implement security measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data.
? Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
? Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
? Automate tasks and streamline processes using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
? Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Linux systems with existing infrastructure.
? Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in Linux administration.
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
? Bachelor?s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
? Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure etc., including infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts.
? Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
? Proficiency in Linux server administration (Red Hat, , Ubuntu, etc.).
? Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.).
? Strong security mindset and ability to implement best practices for securing Linux-based systems, docker images, docker containers, etc.,
? Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
? Implement Kubernetes best practices for resource management, scaling, and workload optimization.
? Design, implement, and manage Docker containers and containerized applications in both development and production environments.
? Proficiency in Docker containerization, including building and maintaining Docker images and working with Docker Hub or private container registries.
? Experience with Docker Compose for local development and testing of multi-container applications.
? Strong understanding of container networking concepts and the ability to configure Docker networks effectively.
? Demonstrated expertise in Shell scripting (Bash, Shell, etc.) for automating system tasks, managing configurations, and deploying applications.
? Strong command of Shell scripting techniques for process automation, file manipulation, and system administration tasks on Unix/Linux platforms.
? Any expertise in automation tools will be added value ? e.g. Proficiency in Python scripting for automating tasks, data processing, and developing efficient solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Sound knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Swarm & other devops tools
? Redhat administration skills.
